THE VEILED – MOS with Carrara Design Factory at ME London
Luxury lifestyle hotel, ME London, will host an exclusive exhibition during London Design Festival, continuing its commitment to supporting excellence in design and emerging international talent. This year, London Design Festival welcomes ME London as Hotel Partner for the first time. The hotel is ideally located directly opposite Somerset House, one of the key destinations for design enthusiasts. In partnership with creative studio Matter of Stuff (MOS), ME London will unveil exclusive furniture pieces by six international designers – Alessandro Zambelli, Nina Cho, Olga Bielawska, Tim Vanlier, Tomas Libertiny and Studio Uufie – winners of the inaugural MOS Designer Residency Competition. The competition and residency was established to create new design typologies in marble and metal. The designers had the opportunity to develop their own research in collaboration with two Italian manufacturers in Italy, Toscari and Carrara Design Factory, during a month long residence in Montalcino. Each piece within the Curated by MOS collection is an edition of 12. The exhibition will be revealed on 17 September 2016 and will be shown until 25 September 2016. The designers were also invited by Banfi Wine to create a personal interpretation of the Castello Banfi’s renowned Brunello di Montalcino wine bottle label for a limited edition case. In response, each designer created a concept which referenced their design concept developed for the MOS collection. During the festival, the wine bottle labels will also be showcased.
